And the saga continues....
11:30 After we played downstairs for a while, we came back upstairs to listen to some music. My kids love music. One of their favorite CD's now is "party like a preschooler" by the Go Fish Guys. It's actually a pretty good cd for a kids one and it's a good 20 plus workout if you "dance" with them. Yes, I "dance" also. We have a big picture window and I'm sure my neighbors all enjoy the show. :) Anyway, here are some pictures from the "5 little monkeys jumping on the bed" song. Notice everyone has to have a monkey. O is holding mine in one picture... so he doesn't get left out.
I wanted to come upstairs at 11:30 because the cd is 30 minutes long and I can skip out of the dancing on the last song and a half to make lunch.
11:55 start making lunch
12:10 eat
S has started giving me the look. You know, the drop dead look when I tell him something silly like chew your food, take bites, or you have to eat something other than fruit for lunch. This is the best picture I have. It really doesn't do it justice though.... you need to see it in person.
12:35 O says she's done. I tell her ok. She wants down. I remind her that everyone stays at the table until everyone is done and S is still eating. Magically she says she has to go potty. It's amazing how smart she is sometimes! We, of course, go and she, of course, doesn't have to go. We are compromise and she can sit at the table and color or do her puzzle while S finishes eating. He does take a long time.
12:45 S is done eating and I start cleaning.
O wants down and then goes to color on our red chair. As I'm cleaning I hear a THUD! then "Be careful O!"
12:56 All done cleaning(another 10 minute clean up!) and S gets ready for his nap.
1:10 S is in bed and I get O ready for her nap
1:25 O is in bed
During naptime I normally do a variety of things. Our "typical" day naptime went like this:
unloaded and loaded dishwasher
showered
folded clothes(that had been on my couch for a few days)
cut out hearts(or the project we didn't do that day)
read my passages on Biblegateway.com. I had been struggling with reading my Bible daily and my pastor talked about the reading plans on Biblegateway.com during one sermon so I checked it out. I chose the one that goes through the Bible in chronological order. I've been doing better reading unless I get behind. I just decided that I need to not try to make up the days I missed because I get discouraged and don't read at all.
email, checked Facebook(Wow! that doesn't happen ever!) and check my blog to see if any of my millions of readers had commented on one of my interesting posts. :) I also have a list of blogs I follow and I normally check them too.
searched the internet for nutritious snack foods for the kids
4:10 S up
4:20 O up- they took a long nap this "typical" day but that's not always so typical. :)
Kids had a snack
We turned on more music after snack. This is "this little light of mine"
4:20 I start supper. Normally, I try to make as much of supper during naptime as possible. O is getting better about playing by herself while I cook.
But S is not. He wants to see what's going on. And after awhile of him being crabby since he can't see what's going on, O comes in and wants to see to. This recipe the kids really couldn't help with so I put them in chairs to watch(and play in the water)
Here's what we had:
Pringle Chicken
1 pound chicken breasts(can cut chicken breasts in half but I like to cut the breasts into strips)
1 egg
1 container Pringles chips(I use regular but one day I'm going to branch out and try a different kind)
shredded cheddar cheese
sour cream(optional)
Preheat oven to 375
Dip chicken in egg then cover chicken with Pringles. Place in greased baking dish. Bake at 375 approximately 30 minutes until done. Top with with cheddar cheese and sour cream(if desired... I desire, so does O, James does not so we half it). Bake another 5 minutes until cheese is melted.
We also had sweet potato fries(cut sweet potatoes into fry shapes, drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with random spices). I, however, had to call my mother-in-law while making this. I'm not too knowledgeable about sweet potatoes and when I started cutting the second one it looked a tad different than the first. So I asked what she thought and she thought what I did... if it looks funny you probably shouldn't eat it. :)
5:30 Supper finally in the oven(if you don't have kids, it really doesn't take you 40 minutes to prepare this meal:)
While supper was baking we had a "party." O is very happy having "parties." O, of course, was our "cook."
One of the things O cooked was a "potato with a green bean in it."
S would get a tomato or orange or onion and throw it... it looks like a ball!
And there was actually some sharing involved... whether you wanted it or not!
I got bad with times from here on out. Sometime between then and 6:05 when supper was done James came home. Normally when James comes home he plays with the kids while he changes and I finish supper. This always involves children being thrown/bounced on our bed. The kids LOVE it!
6:05 Dinner
6:35 dinner and cleanup done... clean up is soo soo much faster when James is home because he does alot of it!
That evening we didn't go anywhere and just listened to more music(they do love music but today was an abnormal music loving day!). Here is O dancing with her Daddy.
7:15 we start the going to bed process
watch a "quacky show" (PBS's Word World)
Pj's
read books
bed
Normally the kids are in bed anywhere from 7:45-8pm, depending on if both of us are here or not.
So that's the exciting day!

I LOVE your "Typical day" series!!! makes me feel a little bit like i am there with all of you!
