So I heard it's been about 9 days since I blogged last(thanks for reading my blog Andrea!) so I have some catching up to do. :)
Last Halloween I bought O a gorilla outfit.  When we got it home I wanted to try it on her to make sure it fit.  I was glad I did that because she refused to put it on!  So we "practiced" Halloween for a week before we finally got her to wear it.  So this year I decided we needed to "practice" again.  J is not liking the hat of the gorilla costume but O did fine(until she had an accident but we won't talk about that).  I hope we have enough time before the big day!

We had a good weekend.  Saturday morning we went to the big bad pumpkin races!  We had never been before and it was fun to watch even though we did not have a pumpkin racing.  O loved it so much she started crying when we left!   Here is a close up of one of the pumpkins.  Yes, that really is a pumpkin.  I'm not sure but I think James may already be planning his pumpkin roadster for next year. :)
My dad and Josh came up to see us Saturday afternoon.  It's always a fun time when there's company...

Josh taught J how to do a high 5!  This is the best picture I got.  J can also high 5 with a giraffe if you would like. :)

Last but not least, we had family pictures taken on Sunday evening.  Wow, amazing!!  I haven't seen all of the pictures yet but if you would like a preview go to twiceover productions.  If you live in the KC area, you HAVE to contact Jami to get photos taken of your family.   I'm not joking... and she didn't pay me to say that. :)

Have a great day!

opps!

Yes, you are reading another post from the Thompson family in the same week!  I know you are surprised.  All two of you who read this blog. :)
Anyway, couple things happened that I want to share.  First, making supper yesterday was... well... interesting.  James was working late and I forgot something at the store needed for supper so I decided we were going to have the "old faithful back-up plan."  Yes, this plan includes very nutritious chicken nuggets, homemade mac-n-cheese(with Velveeta!), and whatever veggie I have laying around.  So, I was making this yummy meal and trying to convince O that I needed to make the supper before she could eat it and I had brilliant plan(please read sarcasm there) to let her hold the elbow noodles box while I did something else.  She started to shake the box.  At first it was fun and we laughed.  Then she shook it harder... and yes... 1/4 of a box of elbow noodles went all over the floor.  :)  I laughed(what else could I do?!) and got the broom.  Meanwhile J came in to see what was going on.  I'll shorten the story by saying I swept up the noodles at least 3 times before they actually got to the trash can because of all the "help" I was receiving.  I have to admit, I was wasn't laughing the whole way though this clean up/make supper/make sure J wasn't eating hard noodles part of the day.  But I did get pictures... because that's what you do when you are a mom. Hopefully you can see the noodles. :)

 This is my favorite one

These are all the noodles I got after sweeping.  Since then I've found about 15 more.  I think I going to be finding noodles for a while.

More to come later(kids just woke up)!

It's here!

I finally got it to work!  I've lost track of how many times I've tried to get this video uploaded.  It only took 56 minutes to get it uploaded.  You would think with all the wonderful, advanced technology we have today it would be easy to upload a 1 minute 3 second video....  I shouldn't complain though because I got alot done in that almost hour. :)  Anyway, thank you Amanda, Amy, and John for the advice and encouragement to continue to try to post this(Amanda, I hope Nora likes the video and it gives you 1 minute and 3 seconds of "quiet time.")
About the video, see previous post for the long story.  Sorry you can't really hear much laughing since O is talking the whole time and I had to interrupt the playing to get the camera but you get the picture. Actually I just watched the video again when I finally got it to work and I realized this really shows O's personality.  Don't you love her shoes?! And she's carrying around an apple as she is talking and talking and moving and moving...
Enjoy!

Two posts in one- "Funny moment" and "Farmstead"

So I realized the other day that I wrote this post last week but never published it!  It was a long week last week.  Just a lot of little things adding up.  So I'll try it again....
Because this week as been a long week I've tried to remember the good mommy moments.  Like when J just wants to rock and cuddle with me(yeah, he was suppose to be sleeping but that's okay).  Or like when O comes up and gives my leg a huge hug and a squeeze for no reason at all(at least that I know of).  Or when O does something really silly and J just laughs and laughs so she keeps doing it because she thinks it's funny he is laughing.  And then today something funny happened right before lunch.  I was in the kitchen getting lunch ready and O was "helping" me.  All of a sudden I hear J just laughing and laughing.  If you haven't heard my kid-o's really laugh it's funny.  At least I think so.  Anyway, I had to figure out what would be so funny to a one year old so I walked in the front room.  J had a pinwheel and was swinging it around.  Our cat Gabby was chasing it.  And he was laughing.  I grabbed my camera to get a video.  I got a good video but have tried 3 times to upload it to this blog and have just got an error report.  I'll keep trying because it is rather funny. :)

Also last week the kids and I went to Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead with our MOPS group.  It was really fun because J was more interested in the animals this time since he is a little older.  Here's some pictures:
Yes, J is waving(at the cows) and I have no idea what O is doing. :)
O refused to stand by J and the cow.  I don't know why.
I hope you can see that they are looking at a goat through the fence.  O loved the goats this time!  She loved petting them and I had to practically drag her away so we could stay with the group.  I tried to get other pictures of her petting them but I was holding J at the same time and they all look like she was petting the goats rear ends so I didn't want to post those(I'll just tell you about it!:).

Obviously not a picture of the Farmstead but of my two children loving the dirt! :)

Happy Birthday Surprise!

We had J's birthday party on Saturday.  What a great surprise to see him dig into his cake!!  If you have read my previous posts you know he is a rather picky eater(understatement).  Well he just completely dug into his cake at his party!  We, of course, got the usual face the first time James put frosting in J's mouth:

Then it was no turning back!
Sugar high...

He put his face in the cake twice... this is the only picture the three photographers got!
"This is really ok to do?!?"

I love this picture.  He looks so happy!
We think he was going to throw it...

I just had a thought... maybe the whip cream feed to him by Auntie Kim earlier that day had something to do with his need for sugar...
It was a great party!  Thank you to everyone who came!

Oh, and I thought I would add one more picture of Miss O.  She is playing with Bob, our cat.
