On Monday(yes, Monday of this week- I'm blogging an event the same week it happened!) we finally had some measurable snow. I really can't believe I typed that. I'm not a snow fan... I'm not a winter fan. I've loved this winter because we have had so many warm days and no snow. But I have a 3 year old who so badly wanted to have snow and build a snowman... so I share that we "finally" had snow. O was so excited when she woke up to see the snow. I think I would have had issues getting her to go to preschool if it wasn't the day of her Valentine's party. So here are our snow pictures....
As you can see, O is not leery about getting out there. S was. He also was a little slow walking into O's school to drop her off. O on the other hand was walking in the flower beds because that's where the snow was! As we were walking in, I heard one of the dad's who was dropping off his child start laughing and say "hey, save some for us!" I look over and O has her mouth open and her tongue out trying to catch the few snowflakes that were still falling. Yes, she didn't get it from me but she does love snow!
Funny side note... on the way home from dropping off O, S said "Mama, I eat snow." I'm driving so I just say something like "yea, you can eat some snow if it's clean buddy." And S says, "No mama. I eat snow." I look back and he IS eating snow... snow he has picked off his shoes! I, of course, say "Buddy, please don't eat the snow off your shoes. That's dirty snow." His response... "why?"
After nap time we got bundled up again and headed out to make a snowman... something else O has been dying to do! Thankfully it was perfect snowman making snow since we really only hand about 1.5ish inches. Here she is rolling the snowball....
Putting the scarf on....
Trying to put what we found for the nose on but it wasn't working very well...
We finally decided on chalk eyes and nose...
Wondering what S was doing during this time...
Yes, not much can complete with the front loader.
The completed snowman...
Doesn't she look so proud??
I made S pose for this picture...
And because this is one of the strangest winters I remember this is what our snowman looked like in less than 24 hours...
Surprisingly, O was ok with the melting. She just wanted to make sure we got the scarf and the chalk. :)
